VIJAY learnt the FLUTE from T.S.Sankaran, a senior disciple of Flute Maestro, the late T.R.Mahalingam. Later he practised and developed an uniquely beautiful style marked by superb blowing and fingering techniques. His performances are known for the blend of heavy classicism and brilliant creativity that are the delight of both the pundits and the laymen alike.
